2.Here is a talk from Radio Eikaiwa

Topic is disagreement.

Dr.Stein and Jeannie are talking.

a Dr. Stein, why did you creat me and Frankie?

b Wow, what`s a question? Out of the blue?

a Isn`t it such a difficult question?

b What I meant was I wasn`t expecting you to ask such a thing.

a Why not?

b Didn`t you want Frankie and me to be like a human?

a I supose you have point there.

b So, what is the answer?

a Why? it`s because I  wanted a family.

b I see. Thank you.Dr.Stein.

key sentence I suppose you have a point there.

Dr.Stein agrees with the implication.

I agree with most of what you are saying.

I agree with the main trust of your opinion.

I agree with you up to a point.

you are probably right.

You could be right.

That could work. That could be an opinion.

That might be doable. You may have a point.

I suppose you are right. Maybe I`m being too strict with kid.

I think I agree with what you`re saying.

I`d like some time to consider your sugvestion, though. Can I  sleep on it?

You suppose you are right. Maybe I`m being too strict with the kids.

I think I agree with most what you`re saying.I would like some time to consider your suggestion, though. Can I sleep on it?

You are probably right.Maybe switching jobs so soon isn`t such a good idea.

Yayoi and Jonas are talking.

Yayoi is Jonas`s boss.

a Jonas, I`m afraid you have not achieved your work goals.

b Which goals?

a You were supposed to attend some educational workshops, but you haven`t.

b That`s true.

a And there have been some complaints about your chatting in the office.

b Chatting? I don`t chat so much.

a You did, Jonas.

b I completely disagree. That`s not how I see it.

I`m building connections with coworkers.

a People are busy and need to concentrate.

b I see. I will dial it back then.

key sentence I completely disagree.

I can`t agree. there`s not true.

That`s not how I see it.

I don`t see it that way. I don`t feel that way at all.

I can`t go along with you on that.

That`s not something I can agree on.

That`s not my take on it.

We`ll have to agree to disagree.

Let`s agree to disagree.

I can`t go along with you on that. To me hiding the truth from someone is the same as lying to them.

I can`t agree with you. Reducing office space saves money, but it limits our capacity to do buisness. It`s not a long-term solution.

That`s not how I see it.Accepting your limitations is a sign of maturity, not weakness.

Commander, Megan and flight pilot, Akira are talking.

a Commander, why do I have to fly to the moon? Are you serious?

b Actually I`m not. It was a joke.

a A joke?

b Yes. You seemed a bit down. I wanted to make you smile.

a Oh, I don`t understand the joke. So, let me get this straight. I can fly directly back to Earth?

b Yes, Akira.

aYou are serious this time?

b Yes, I am.

b What a relief! I am finally leaving Mars!

Thank goodness! Woohoo!

key sentence  are you serious?

you must be joking! No way!

Don`t give me that! Come on!

Come on! Stop to complain such a grouch. Come with me to the party. You will love it.

Professor Peacock and his wife, Aki are talking.

a It`s a lovely day.

b Yes, I love this kind of weather.

a Aki, do you feel at home here?

b Not yet. It`s going to take time.

a Is there anything you need?

b Um, I would like to put a kotatsu in the living room.

a A kotatsu? Those low tables with a heater?

b Yes, It`s needed for the colder months.

a I hate to disagree, but It`s not really necessary.

b  But my legs will get cold.

a  Don`t worry. We have central heating.

key sentence  I hate to disagree, but it`s not reakly necessary.

That`s the cushion of disagreement.

I`m sorry, but I can`t agree.

I`m afraid that`s not how I see it.

Not to contradict you,but that isn`t necessary.

With all due respect, I have to disagree.

I`m sorry, but I can`t go along with you on that.

I`m afraid I can`t agree with you. Teenagers need more sleeping not more homework.

I hate to disagree with you, but that`s not how I see it. Many families are fine without owning a car.

b Well, that was a different ara, Bill. There`s no need to rash things. You can write more music.

a Sounds good. I can go with our heavy metal style. It shouldn`t be a problem.

b Thanks, Bill. Trust me, that`s what our fans want.

a If you say so.

b I do.

Key sentence Sounds good.

This phrase, Bill agrees with Cynthia easily.

Why don`t we going after work?

Why don`t we go for a drink after work? I`m sorry I wish I could., but I have to submit an important report tomorrow morning, so I can`t. How about tomorrow?

I`m sorry. I need the aisle seat because my legs are too long.

I`m sorry  I can`t let you. It`s actually my parents`s car. I could drive you, though. Does that work?

I would if I could, but I have an appointment right after my shift. Sorry.

Two new comers, Rintaro and Akari are talking.

a Rintaro, it`s been a while. How are you doing?

b Fine. I`m really busy learning new things.

a You look great! Did you lose some weight?

b Maybe. I have to run around to different places everyday.

a That`s good exercise. I wish I could move around more often.

b But It is not easy being the new kid on the block.

a I feel the same way. It is hard to get to know evrybody.

b It takes time. But I`m sure you will be OK.

a Thanks.

key sentence I feel the same way.

Akari agrees with Rintaro`s opinion.

I agree with you. I agree to his plan.

I think so, too. That`s a good point.

Do you agree? Are you for (against)the plan?

We fully support his proposal.

Everyone is in favor of the merger.

I`m behind you on this.

I agree with you.let`s go and ask the boss if he`ll suport you.

That`s excellent point. I had not concidered the problem from that angle.

Are you for or against the plan? I want to know how much support it has.

Two students, Gary and Helen are talking.

a Gary, where are you going?

qI  I`m going home. I`ve had it.

a What happened?

b I couldn`t stand the guy who was sitting next to us.

a The one on his phone?

b Yes. He was on a business call, talking loudly. That`s not OK.

a I couldn`t agree more. I guess it doesn`t bother some people.

b And I didn`t feel like complaining to the staff.

a Well, someone else probably will. I will go back to the darm with you. Let me get my things.

key sentence  I couldn`t agree more.

Helen agrees with Gary strongly.

I agree completely.  I`m all for that.

This is the best learnibg method.

Absolutely. that`s for sure.

This leclure is so boring.

You can say that again.

Hey don`t complain. Coming here was your idea.

I couldn`t agree more.Money isn`t everything.

Absolutely,. I hate when people cruise in the passing lane.

Youcan say that again. Talking loudly on the phone in a public place is a nuisance.
