Today’s speech is a talk from ラジオ英会話.

Topic is present continuous form of verb,
past continuous.

First story is two persons are talking about Indian food. Or the first meeting of a couple.
a Hi, do you come here often?
b Oh, hello. No, not really, I'm waiting for my boy friend.
a I'm waiting for my friend too.
b Are you a tourist?
a No, I'm living in Japan on a work visa. I'm a chef.
b Oh, what kind of food?
a Well, as you can no doubt guess, I cook Indian food.
b I love Indian food.
a Here's my card.
b Deepak, I'm Barbara. It's a pleasure to meat you.
a The pleasure's mine.
key sentence is I 'm living in Japan on a work visa.
I'm living in Japan for a short time.
On the contrary I live in Japan for a long time.
What are you doing now? means to act now.
What do you do? means to ask job.

I'm afraid your son isn't studying hard enough.
Were you lying when you said you were single?
I love the way you are teaching and motivating the students.

Second story is one of rock group members and the manager are talking.
a You guys played brilliantly! The audience was cheering wildly!
b Thanks, Cynthia. It's good to be rockin' in Japan again. The fans are awesome.
a You said there was a problem during the concert, though.
b Yes, it was during our quiet love song, ' moonlight guitar'.
a What happened?
b Well, there was an old man near the stage. He was sneezing non-stop.
a The man next to the woman with bright pink hair?
b Yeah. A lot of fans looked annoyed.
key sentence is he was sneezing non-stop.
He continues to some extence action(sneezing).
The action was momentary and repeatedly.
Like, the audience was cheering wildly.
Also, something has changed the situation.
The train was stopping.
The pityful bird was dying.
In Japanese (止まりかけていた、死にかけていた)
There were some persons got angry in the theatre, because I was coughing.
As I arrived at airport, the airplain was landing.
The train was putting into the station when suddenly all the lights went out.

Third story is Tom and Masami quarrel.
a Masami, I made a big mistake!
b You said ' How many boyfriends do you need?' I've never been so insulted. It's over between us, Tom.
a Masami, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it.
b No, I think you did.
a Look, I'm apologizing. It came out the wrong way.
b I don't think so. Your true feelings came out.
a Masami, please don't misunderstand me. Sometimes I 'm not so good with words.
b Good-by Tom, Don't call me anymore. I won't answer.
key sentence is Look! I'm apologizing.
He can describe some action objectively.
On the contrary I apologize.

Last story is Hiroki explains by telling the reason.

There is some action. like I 'm having a lunch.
I'm having good time.
On the conrary I have a car. we can't say I'm having a car.
Because a car is owner ship. property right.
There are not only having but also being.
He is arrogant.
He is being arrogant. being arrogant is action.

We're having a housewarming party. Can you come?
Ignore her. She's just being silly.
He 's having tantrum because I won't buy him an icecream.

I'm interested in feeling English like native speakers.
