First story is Two colleagues are talking about the contract one lost.

a You seem a little down. Is something wrong?

b I just got an email from one of our American clients. We didn't get the sales contract. It was my fault.

a What do you mean?

b My presentation last week was a disaster. I didn't prepare well enough.

a Come on. It's OK. You did your best.

b Thanks. But

Next story is a dancer and her coach are talking about the competition she lost.

a Coach. I wanted to win the dance competition so badly.

a No. I know I wasn't in sync with the other dancers at the start.That' why we lost.

b The winning team is simply too good today.

a Ahh. I guess so. It' just too hard to accept this result.

b That's part and parcel of any sport.

a You're right, as always. thanks, coach.

b Don't worry. Tomorrow's another day.

key sentence is Tomorrow's another day.

In other words,Tomorrow's a brand new day.

We need a diversion.

Third story is Two persons are talking about how to learn Japanese.

a Japanese is really hard, especially, reading and writing.

I'll never learn all these kanji characters.

b Well, it takes a long time. Rome was not built in a day.

a But I was behind all the other students in my class. I feel like a failure.

b Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone learns at their own pace.

a I wish I could learn  faster.

b Hey, you need a break. Let's get a cup of coffee at the cafe.

a Good idea!

We need a diversion.

We know you can do it.

I know you'll do a fantastic job.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone has a bad days.

This kid is special, believe me. She has unbelievable talent.

 

Last story is Two persons are talking about one's hobby.

a Did you tell me that I' ve taken up a new hobby?

b No, what kind of hobby?

a Water color painting.

b That' s cool. Do you have any pictures that you can show me?

a Yes, Here's a water color of my dog, Paul.  But he looks like a cat.

b Hmm. Stick with it. You 'll get better with practice.

a Thanks. How about I paint a picture of your dog in the park?

b That would be great.

We can encourage the partner to continue something.
