Today's presentation is following

I would like to talk about ‘ラジオ英会話'.

my topic is ‘verb   get’. 

It ‘s useful.

We can use it in many various ways.

I have 4 dialog stories

 

First story is 

 two friends are talking about their friend's wedding.

a What's that you are reading?

b I got a letter from Ken saying he was engaged.

a Who? Ken, our friend? the doctor?

b Yes. They are going to have the wedding in Hawaii.

a That's great news. Who's the bride-to-be?

b Her name is Sakura. She's Japanese. They met in medical college.

a That's hand written letters. Why didn't he just send you an email?

b He enjoys writing letters with a fountain pen.

 

key sentense is 

I got a letter from Ken saying he is engaged.

receive,accept

I got it! 

I got some great bargains in the sales.

I’ve got an awful headache.



Second story is  

a couple are talking about Kappabashi shopping.

a I'm glad we came to Kappabashi.

b Me too. There're so many shops with kitchen  goods.

a You bought a lot of pots and pans. That bag looks heavy. Let me carry it.

b Thanks. Do we have to take the subway again with all this luggage?

a  No, wait here. I'll get a tax.

b OK.  Let's go back to the hotel before dinner.

a Good idea. I don't want to take all this stuff to the restaurant.

 

key sentence is 

I’ll get a taxi.

タクシーを捕まえるよ。

周りにタクシーはありません。そこから動いて「捕まえるよ」

I’ll take a taxi.

タクシーにします。



Where can I get a train to Oxford?

I got to school late this morning due to a train delay.




Third story is  

two persons are talking about sunburning.

a Wow! What happened to you? Your face is so red.

b Yes. I went to the beach on Saterday and fell asleep while sunbathing.

I got badly burned.

a Have you heard of sunscreen?

b Very funny.     I thought you would say something  like that.

a Just teasing you. But, seriously you should be more careful. I always use Spf50 sunscreen.

b OK I'll certainly use some next time. I don't want to look like a lobster again.

 

key sentence is

 I’m so happy to hear you got promoted. Congratulations!

 My bicycle got stolen yesterday. 突然、ビックリ

She is believed to be the oldest person in the world.

 

the last story is

an old couple are talking about their phone's problem.

a I like the style of this new phone of mine. But it's difficult to use.

b Have you managed to transfer th e data from your old phone?

a No. I got my son to do it for me. He is a whiz with all kinds of electric devices.

b Yes. He showed me how to do it last time I chaged my phone.

a I'll give him a buzz later.

b We are lucky to have a good son.

 

key sentence is 

I’ll get Vince to do it for me.

ask 人 to -, (人に〜するように頼む)

I have to get all the soccer jerseys washed before the next match.
